I'm not sold yet. What's this all about?

The "Graveyard" in Your Head is Costing You a Life of Freedom.

(And the simple "Strategic Immersion" switch that fixes it in 48 hours).

Dear Visitor,

Please take a moment to be entirely honest with yourself.

If I were to download your mind onto my laptop right now, open it, and click on the file named "My Documents", what would I find?

I’m betting that somewhere, there'd be a folder named "Drafts," or "My Novel," or maybe just "Ideas."

And inside that folder, that's where the graveyard is. Half-finished stories, and for most people, half-started stories too! Articles that petered out after paragraph two. Brilliant concepts that have been left to rot because you didn't know how to make the idea real - to manifest it, if you will.

Most people have a folder like this - and some are people who could be brilliant writers, and live brilliant lives because of it. This folder is where their dreams go to wait for a "someday" that isn't on the calendar.

I know this, because for years I stuffed so much into that folder that I'm still sorting through it now.

The View From The Foggy Window

It was a rainy Friday evening last December. I was stuck on a packed bus going nowhere relevant to this story. The windows were steamed up with the thick condensation that you get on the windows of an old bus in the rain. So I couldn't distract myself with the view. I sat there, squeezed between a stranger and the edge of my seat, realising that another year was about to pass without me having done the one thing I promised myself I would do.

I wanted the travel. I wanted the nice meals out. I wanted to build a future where I was paid for my mind, not just my time. Most importantly, I wanted to be a pro. I knew I had a novel in me — I knew the characters, I knew the plot. But I didn't have the "status" or the time to write it.

I was waiting for permission. I was waiting for an agent to magically find me on that bus and hand me a contract.

I was delusional, of course.

The "Language Hacking" Epiphany

In an attempt to distract myself from the crushing weight of my own inaction, I opened a book about "language hacking." The author was arguing about the best way to learn Italian.

There were two paths:

  1. Structured Learning: Sitting in a classroom for years, studying grammar, waiting until you are "perfect" before you speak.

  2. Total Immersion: Moving to Italy, burning your bridges, and forcing yourself to buy groceries from often chatty Italians, or starve.

And that is when the inspiration came to me.

I had been treating writing like "Structured Learning." I was waiting to be perfect before I called myself a writer. But the people who actually make it? They choose Immersion.

But I couldn't just quit my job and move to a cabin in the woods. I needed a middle ground. I call it Strategic Immersion.

I realized that if I wanted to be a professional writer, I had to stop "practising" in secret. I had to start submitting. I had to up the stakes. I had to put my work in front of people who had the power to pay me.

The Bridge Between "Aspiring" and "Paid"

The biggest lie you have been told is that you need to be "ready" before you show your work. The truth is, you get ready by submitting.

You don't need a Master's of Fine Arts. You don't need a connection in the publishing industry. You need to just write, you need a target list, and you need the guts to hit "send."

That is why I built "Submit Here!".

This is not just a PDF. It is a portal. It is the tool I wish I had on that rainy bus ride. It is a curated, verified, "no-dead-ends" roadmap designed to take you from "hobbyist" to "published author" in the shortest time possible.

What you will find inside "Submit Here!"

If you think this is just a list of magazines you could find on Google, you are missing the point. You could spend three weeks scouring the internet, sorting through the broken links and defunct magazines, to find the gold. But you won’t. You have a job and a life, and if you're like I was, a bucket load of excuses to stop you looking, or the type of ADHD-esque brain that will power you to plough through creating the list before shutting off for a year, having not had the energy to go through the list and write a piece for someone. AI wont help either - trust me, that was my first port of call too.

"Submit Here!" gives you the infrastructure of a professional career instantly:

1. The "Prestige" Shortcut. Nothing—and I mean nothing—silences the "Imposter Syndrome" in your head faster than seeing your name on a published piece. Whether it’s The New Yorker, or Asimov’s Science Fiction, or a niche culinary journal, getting published gives you the right to put their logo on your website. It builds instant credibility. It tells the world (and yourself), "I am a writer, and I belong here."

2. 100 Verified Doors Waiting for You. I have curated 100 non-academic publications that are open for submissions right now.

For the Storytellers: Fiction and Literary online and print publications.

For the World Builders: Speculative Fiction, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy outlets.

For the Adventurers: Travel & Adventure magazines that pay for your stories.

For the Analysts: Business, Tech, and Entrepreneurship platforms.

For the Soul Searchers: Creative Nonfiction and Personal Essays.

3. The "Earn Whilst You Learn" Ecosystem. My goal isn't just to get you published; it's to get you paid. I want you to earn whilst you learn. Every acceptance is a step towards a check in the bank, and some outlets pay right away! This resource is designed to speed you toward the ultimate goal: making a living with your words. It's not the only route to getting paid though; there is a parallel path you can take, but it's important that you do start to write, and get your name out there.

Your Secret Weapon: The AI Pitching Coach. This is the part that changes everything.

Most writers fail because they don't know how to pitch. They sound desperate, or they sound like robots. And in the age of AI, editors are terrified of "ChatGPT-written" slush. If you use AI to write your pitch, you will be blackballed.

Inside this guide, I give you my Master Prompt (Version 2.0) for the "Submission Mentor".

This isn't a cheat code to let the computer do the work. It is a "Tough Love" Coach.

  • It will not ghostwrite for you (I’ve programmed it to refuse).

  • It will interview you about your story.

  • It will critique your "vibe" and tell you if you sound like an amateur.

  • It will force you to find your own voice, ensuring you hit the editor's inbox looking like a seasoned pro.

You Are Entitled to the Action, Not the Result. Here is the final truth:

You are going to get rejected. Even the pros have a "No" pile bigger than their "Yes" pile. But in the world of Strategic Immersion, every "No" is just a data point. It means you are in the arena. It means you are playing the game.

The only way to truly fail is to keep your work locked in that folder on your hard drive. the one we spoke about earlier, the one where dreams don't just go to die, but they go to fester, so they can take you with them with a thousand little cuts of regret.

The world doesn't need more perfect, polished prose. It needs your unique, messy, human perspective.

This Is Your "Call To Adventure"

I am currently between Step 3 and Step 4 of my story (Read more about the steps here). I am a pen-for-hire, a wordsmith, a pro writer. I am inviting you to branch off from my story and start your own main character arc.

You have the desire. You do have the talent. Now you have the map.

Stop looking through the foggy window at the life you want. Ring the bell. Get off the bus. Start submitting.

To your future,

Paul Penman | Wordsmith | Scribe-for-hire | Pro Writer

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

You should remember that the vast majority of people earn nothing as a result of taking training courses.

This is true in all sorts of fields – for example, only a fraction of people get healthier after buying a diet plan book.

It is therefore safe to assume “average earnings” are zero. This could be for a variety of reasons including, but certainly not limited to, a failure to implement and follow through with the consistent work that is required.

Even when consistent work is applied any business is inherently risky. Projects often fail and result in no earnings or even losses.

Since this is the nature of business, if you feel uncomfortable with this risk, then please don’t consume any of our free or paid resources about becoming a professional writer.
